The client wanted affordable office furniture to support 8 employees in a 975 sq. ft. room in their northeast facility. Our office space planner created a simple cluster of 6’x7’ L shaped workstations in the middle of the floor. One cubicle layout obstacle: a 2’x2’ column right where a cubicle desk needed to be. We increased one cubicle workspace by 24" to accommodate the column and oriented the cluster so the column stayed out of the way at the back.
67”H privacy panels for the cubicles was the appropriate choice for two reasons. First, high cubicle walls support the independent, focused work being done by the employees. Second, the room had less than ideal acoustics – concrete floors and a lack of soft furnishings lead to echoes. Tall fabric partitions help serve as an acoustic barrier that absorb some of the sound waves.
We specified O2 Corporate Office furniture, a top selling modular cubicle system made popular by its flexibility and affordability. Being a nonprofit, CCI wanted to keep costs to a minimum so we kept components basic with a cubicle cabinet overhead and a filing pedestal underneath. We saved them an additional 10% by choosing colors from the O2 Budget program.
